How did Singapore – a "Little Red Dot" – transform from a resource-poor, impoverished island into a leading global economic and financial hub?
In this book, Taiwan’s representative to Singapore, Dr. Tung Chen-Yuan, unveils the secrets behind Singapore’s 60-year journey from a small island nation to a global benchmark of success. As a multi-racial, multilingual, and multi-religious society, Singapore’s achievements are not only measured by its economic performance and administrative efficiency, but also by its deep-rooted foundation in social stability, racial harmony and national unity.
Divided into ten key themes – national development, governance, diplomacy and defence, economic growth, factors of production, education system, technological innovation, urban planning, social cohesion, tourism, and culture – the book features 60 essays that offer an in-depth analysis of Singapore’s policies and strategic thinking.
